Mike Thornewill
This expedition is being organised and led by Mike Thornewill of Polar Challenge
Mike Thornewill, 46 yrs, is both a policeman and part time polar guide living in Nottingham. In 1999 and 2001 he travelled, together with his wife, the whole way to the South and North Poles. Since that time he has guided two North Pole Last Degree expeditions and two South Pole Last Degree expeditions. Mike has also led numerous other smaller expeditions including the first crossings of Great Slave Lake and Great Bear Lake in Northern Canada.

Mike is married to Fiona who in only 41 days became the first British woman to walk to the South Pole unsupported in 2004.
